Update on ‘Peterloo’  Mike Leigh’s new film about the event in Manchester 16th August 1819 – what began as a peaceful protest pro-democracy rally at St Peter’s field and turned into one pf the bloodiest and most notorious episodes in British history when government forces charged into the crowds of protesters…

People  were protesting because only 2% of the population had the vote. It was the first step towards universal suffrage

The film is booked in from 23rd of November for 7 days at the Savoy theatre in Monmouth – there are rumours that Palace in Cinderford will also be screening Peterloo call 01594-822555 to confirm times.
