Improvement work to be carried out in Coleford’s St Johns Street
Road markings will be refreshed and a new tactile crossing will be installed during work to improve a popular Coleford street.
The work will be carried out by Gloucestershire County Council to make it easier for pedestrians to be seen, and to get across the road safely when shopping in the Forest town.
Beginning on Wednesday 16th March the road markings around the existing speed cushions will be refreshed and seven bollards will be put in to highlight the presence of pedestrians.
A new crossing will be put in near the hairdressers with a textured ground surface to help pedestrians who are blind or visually impaired.
The road will be closed between 8:30am and 4pm each day while the improvements are carried out and a small diversion will be in place. The road will remain open at all other times.
The work is expected to be completed by Friday 18th March.
