Foxglove trio at Forest Folk club sun 29th March

The Foxglove Trio is a group of multi-instrumentalists who perform mostly traditional songs from around the British Isles in English and Welsh. Gathering material from sessions, published song collections and contemporary artists, these talented musicians are making a name for themselves on the UK folk scene for their beautiful harmonies, creative new arrangements and engaging live performances. Cathy Mason plays a whole host of instruments but, with The Foxglove Trio, concentrates on guitar, cello and singing. Ffion Mair sings in Welsh and English and plays whistle and bodhran. She has won several singing awards including third prize in the 2012 Trad to Mad competition, Best Celtic Folk Singer at Llangollen Eisteddfod 2011 and she was a New Roots Finalist in 2010. Patrick Dean plays melodeon, cello and concertina and also sings. In addition to playing with The Foxglove Trio he plays with several ceilidh bands and accompanies a number of Kerry Fletcher’s Eurodance workshops www.thefoxglovetrio.co.uk

Doors open at The Miners Arms, Whitecroft near Lydney, in The Carriage Room at 7.30 – admission £6 .
