Forest Council forced to apologise…”the people of the Forest have been badly let down”


The Daily Mail reports

District Council forced to apologise after squandering £500,000 renovating reception and demolishing empty buildings

• Forest of Dean District Council was criticised for its ‘scandalous waste’

• Authority spent nearly £400,000 renovating reception area at offices

• Another £120,000 was used on demolishing a building they failed to sell

• It was attacked for shutting tourism offices and imposing waste charges

• Apology has been posted on authority’s website and in press releases

“All the above, and more have happened in the last eight years. The existing Conservative administration have failed miserably to listen to the people of the Forest of Dean and as a result they have been badly let down. An unqualified apology is due.”

 The Council therefore apologises.-
