Coleford Lantern Festival 2014 Friday 5th December 5-30pm

Something special will light Coleford this year on Friday 5th December when a feast of lanterns made by local people of all ages will process around the town to herald the season and the illumination of the town’s christmas tree. Workshop sessions to design and make lanterns on the theme of Stars and Angels will be taking place in schools, the library and the town centre. You are invited to come to sessions on saturday 29th at 11am and tuesday 5th at 5pm in the library to make your own.

lantern frameworkColeford Town Council have funded two artists to work  with children and staff in Coalway Junior School and Coleford St Johns  to produce Lanterns as light sculptures

Tom Cousins who has just finished another of his Forest murals featuring The Mushetts- inventors of stainless steel- in the town Centre, will be adding street projections to the lantern images.

There will be live music from 5-30pm on the main stage and a space story session in the Library from 7pm
