GREG RUSSELL AND CIARAN ALGAR. Winners of the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award in 2013, this outstandingly talented young duo are true successors to 70s icons Martin Carthy and Dave Swarbrick. After recording their second album in the November of 2013, Russell (vocals, guitar and bouzouki) and Algar (fiddle, bouzouki and vocals) received the Horizon Award for Best breakthrough act at the 2014 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. Their second album, The Call, received 5 Stars in fRoots, 4 Stars in both R2 Magazine and The Telegraph. The duo come from musical households and both began to develop their musical skills long before joining forces in 2012.
