A day of trees …

We’re rightly proud that the Festival of Words is now ten years old – but that of course is nothing compared with the life of trees …. so to put it all in perspective, we’re having a Tree Day. On Friday 6 July, Forest Verderer and historian, Ian Standing will guide us around some of the more ancient trees in our Forest, and then we will repair to Hopewell Colliery Cafe for tea and a talk by Fiona Stafford about her recently published book, The Long Long Life of Trees … We’re also organising something for the youngsters from Coleford Library on the same afternoon.  Keep an eye out for the full programme to find out all the details of Tree Day.
